I try using composite to connect my receiver to my non HDMI LCD tv through the rear input "monitor out" but still cannot see the menu through the TV but on the other hand when I turn on my PS2 that is connected to the receiver, the image is shown.. With this I know my unit is working normally. Anyone can teach me how to make the setup menu of the receiver through the TV? Thanks..

Philip thks for your prompt reply.

According to the report as linked:

asia.cnet.com...

the basic output power for SR605 is 110W x 7 amplifier output. However as reported for SR606, it is 100W. So there's a power drop by 10W for the SR606.

Correct me if I am wrong regarding this.

Dude, you will need those extra HDMIs more than anything else. BTW, I did a side-by-side comparison, too, and there is no difference in power output between the two.

I was about to own the award winning TX-SR605 A/V Receiver when the sales staff informed me about the latest 606 A/V Receiver. Agreeing to his suggestion to grab this new toy, my 606 will be delivered within these 2 weeks.

After making a quick comparison for both products, I found that 605 can deliver upto 110 watts whilst the new 606 at 100 only. However, price wise, it will be the same.

Now I am in dilemma, should I stick to 606 or revert to my previous wish.

Onkyo TX-SR606

In Tech : Home Entertainment

Description: The Onkyo TX-SR606 offers tons of functions for the price, but subpar video processing and improved competition mean it's less of a standout receiver than last year's version.
