Uber mini projector brings the big screen near you

Edvarcl Heng  |  Jan 08, 2007

Remember Mysterio? The super villain with the goldfish bowl helmet who used to bamboozle Spiderman with illusions from his collection of mini projectors? Well, web-slingers everywhere should be quailing in fear. Microvision may be bringing the same technology to a mobile phone or PVP near you.

Based on an Integrated Photonics Module (IPM), a highly miniaturized projector engine of Microvision's own design, the IPM prototype will be demonstrated only to invited guests at CES. According to a press release statement, the IPM, which is about the size of an Apple iPod shuffle, is capable of projecting image sizes equivalent to a large screen plasma TV on almost any surface.
