CNET Asia Review
Excellent
The good: Offers critical new features including support for high-speed 3G networks, third-party applications, and expanded email; improved call quality is improved; continues to deliver an excellent music and video experience. 8.3
out of 10View score
The bad: Continues to lack some basic features that are available on even the simplest cell phone; also, we prefer the original iPhone's design.
The bottom line: The iPhone 3G delivers on its promises by adding critical features and sharper performance. The iTunes Apps Store is pretty amazing, and the 3G support is more than welcome. We still have a few gripes, but the iPhone 3G is a big improvement over the original model.

iPhone dissapoints
Aug 28, 2008Rating: 4 out of 10 (Mediocre)
Pros: Nice design, good touch screen
Cons: Missing the important stuff needed in a phone
Opinion:
I like the iPhone cause it had got the pretty sleek and slim look. The addidtion of 3G helps in faster downloads. But once again Apple has decided to exclude important stuff like MMS, 3.2 mega-pixel camera. I finally decided to go with the e71 with a solid build and user interface.
It is one class above the rest. Too bad, things like VoIP, are locked out.
Aug 24, 2008Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: It's not only about what it can do, but also how easily it does it.
Cons: Steve, let people skype. To give is to take. Service providers need to reduce cost of data plan.
Opinion:
Unless you are in the Blackberry camp, there is nothing to compare to. In terms of the overall experiences.
Not for me
Aug 24, 2008Rating: 4 out of 10 (Mediocre)
Pros: Nice interface and cool
Cons: No mms, nor sms forwarding, no video recording, 2mp camera, no flash, no external memory
Opinion:
I have a nokia e71 and ipod touch 16gb. Already reserved the iPhone 3g from singtel. Will be giving up the slot to collect it as I decided that its not worth it for the price and plan. My Nokia e71 has good qwerty keypad and its good for sms and phone and many other uses. The ipod touch is as good as a iphone but typing messages or emails is tough as the keyboard is sensitive esp if you dont have small fingers. The ipod touch can retrieve emails very easily as long as you are in wifi areas and the softwares are free and plenty. Even the ones I bought are so cheap (like USD0.99 only) I use the ipod to keep track of all my contacts and calendars and of course apple makes one of the best mp3.. The sound is fantastic! You guys better think twice about buying the iPhone. ... Read more
