Yesterday, I saw a link from one of my FaceBook contacts regarding someone asking for help. Little did I know that it would be the start of something very big among wired Filipinos. Like a brushfire, news of three-year-old Matthew David Samudio's abduction spread from social networks to blogs until it reached even mainstream news.

Filipinos really are crazy... Internet crazy

First off, let me just say, the past few weeks have been quite, shall we say, illuminating! In case you missed the announcement of my move, the past few weeks have really tested my knowledge and instinct of Pinoy net-pop culture trends. From the mundane to the more business aspects and even to the insane, I've had to really take stock of where Filipinos are headed in this online trend and where we, as businesses should be heading... or at least trying to get involved in a piece of the action.

HappySlip takes action against "bad ads"

Heard from one of my Plurkers and then saw the actual link on Inquirer.net... glad to see someone is taking action against these inappropriate ads popping up all over the Internet. Based on the article by Erwin Oliva, Christine "HappySlip" Gambito is not at all, er, happy with the quality of ads being served on her Friendster Fan page, and fears they will undoubtedly associate these "bad ads" with the HappySlip brand!

Ad agencies taking the digital high road--netvolution in motion

Well, "high road" seems too presumptuous, but for all intents and purposes, it is a rather difficult task for companies and organizations rooted in the traditional. What am I referring to here? Well, based on my latest career move and ad agency industry buzz I've just recently heard, it seems the more established ad agencies have finally begun to make the move to incorporate online marketing, with the digital domain as part of their ammunition.
